H. Ronald Rotell died suddenly and unexpectedly of a massive heart attack on Friday, December 11th. Ron was driving on 394 and Louisiana Ave when he pulled over due to a flat tire. He called for roadside assistance and upon the tow truck's arrival, he informed the driver that he was short of breath and experiencing chest pain. The driver immediately called 911 and the MN State Patrol was the first to respond. Ron quickly became unresponsive and went unconcious. CPR was performed and a difribulator machine was hooked up. Paramedics arrived and Ron was rushed to North Memorial Hospital where several procedures were attempted to save his life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to bring him back and he was pronounced dead at around 11:00 am.
Because it was such a sudden and horrible shock, we are trying to take time to grieve and make decisions based on what we believe our dad would want. We wanted to have a space to share the details of what has happened as well as keep you, his friends and family, posted on his pending memorial service.
We greatly appreciate your well wishes and support and thank you for being a part of Ron's life. He was a truly great man with a big heart and will be deeply, deeply missed.
Chris and Michelle Rotell
Chris, I worked with Ron on Glenwood Springs at Bighorn Toyota.
ReplyDeleteI thought Ron was was one of those people that you meet, that you don't ever forget. He spoke of you often and loved and cared for you. For the most part you were his world.
Be well and cherish the memories...
my deepest sympathies

We wish you both the best during your greiving. The loss of a parent is one that is incomprehendable until you have gone through it yourself. Lean on your friends and family and cherish the time you had and the memories you made with your dad while he was here. The grieving will take time and even though your loss will never be filled, may your heart find ease through knowing he has gone to a better place. Your in our prayers!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Andrew and Carissa
The St. Rose of Lima class of 1960 greives for your loss and the loss of our friend of almost 50 years. Ron had a smile and friendly way that one will not forget. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.

Dear Chris & Michelle,
ReplyDeleteRon was one of my dear friends. We hunted gross in Northern Minnesota, mallards in Alberta and Saskatchewan, caught walleye on Mille Lacs and Red Fish in the Gulf a Mexico, we even did a few chucker hunts in Staples, MN at the Little Moran Hunting Club.
I have several pictures of Ron and Chris that I would like to share with you. I can't figure out how to get them posted on this blog, so if you will send me an email, I will forward them to you.
We will all miss Ron. He was a true gentleman and sportsman, and one of the nappiest dressers around.
